Junior Doctors Strike – Further Dates Announced
The BMA has announced its junior doctors in England will be taking further industrial action in a dispute over pay and working conditions, beginning with a full 72-hour walkout in July.
Continuous strike action – day and night – will begin for any junior doctor working in Primary Care at 7am on Wednesday 14th and continue through to Midnight on Friday 16th July .
At Broomfield Park Medical Centre we have 4 junior doctors and we anticipate that they will be supporting the Industrial Action. Due to this, access to appointments on these 3 days will be reduced.
We appreciate that this will be frustrating for patients and we will do our very best to ensure on the 3 days sighted above, all patients requiring urgent appointments will be prioritised with the reception team signposting to the most appropriate health care professional.
Please remember, the clinical team (GPs) have asked and trained the receptionists to note the reason and brief history for the appointment. This helps clinical staff to prioritise their workload and ensure those who need to be seen urgently, are.
