Staff Training
The practice closes between 1pm and 4.30pm on one Wednesday per month for staff training. We may also close during a lunch period on one or two other days during the year to allow important meetings or training to take place.

Training PracticeBroomfield Park is a training practice. At any time we may have up to four fully qualified doctors who are training to become general practitioners (registrars or foundation SHOs) working alongside the doctors. From time to time we may also have medical students working at the practice. When students are in the practice you will be informed if they are sitting in with the doctor you are due to see. The appointment may occasionally be videoed for training purposes with your consent. Should you not wish the medical student to be present please let the receptionist know immediately. There is no obligation for you to be seen with a medical student present. |
Nurse Practitioners
Nurse Marie White (f)
RGN, BSc (Hons)
Marie White, is a registered nurse who has undertaken a specifice nurse practitioner course of study to 1st degree level (honours). She offers a complementary source of care to that offered by the GPs. She will be able to assess your problem and treat minor illnesses which may otherwise have been seen by the GP eg. upper respiratory, eye, skin, abdomen illnesses and gynaecology, to name but a few. She is able to issue prescriptions for minor illnessed but cannot issue sick notes. |

Our health care assistant is fully trained to offer advice and support in many areas including blood pressure (including use of an ambulatory blood pressure machine), wound care, stop smoking, health checks etc. |

Reception
Our team of receptionists are your first point of contact with our practice. They will try to meet all your requirements. Please note Reception have policies and procedure's to follow to ensure the services provided by the practice run smoothly. This may lead to you being asked several questions when making an enquiry. Please be patient with them and help them to deal with all patient requests. |
Secretaries
Secretaries
The secretarial team deal with the day to day referrals into secondary care (hospitals) and private appointments. If you have any queries relating to a referral then please ring the practice to speak to one of the secretaries. The secretarial team are generally available between 8.45am and 2.30pm each working day. |
Community Midwives
There is a community midwife attached to the practice offering Mums advice and support during pregnancy. |
Health Visitors
There is a health visitor attached to the practice to give advice and monitor the health and development of children and families |
Attached Staff
PALS
As a patient, relative or carer sometimes you may need to turn to someone for help, advice or support. The Patient Advice and Liaison Service act independently when handling concerns regarding hospital care. They sort out problems quickly and can guide you through the different NHS services available. They can also refer you and your family to specific local or national-based support agencies where appropriate. The telephone number is 024 7624 6002. |
Other There are many additional support staff that come into the practice in order to provide additional services to our patients. For instance: health visitors, midwives, district nurses, community psychiatric nurses etc. These clinicians work closely with practice staff. Everyone working for the NHS has a legal duty to keep information about you confidential. |
